The Skull is the second production of the collection titled Seduction, by the artist Tiago Olliver. It celebrates life and its transformation. Between the beginning and the end of a life cycle, transition takes place in the evolutionary process of a being. And in this process of building life we are given the opportunity of creation until our encounter with transcendence.
The art work of three-dimensional effect generates an enigmatic impact when the observer circulates the sculpture by glimpsing the disparity of effects, which causes the feeling of reflection on life and death. Small bone-shaped structures printed in 3D technology, designed by the artist, stitch together and elevate thought to the primordial sense of life, LIVING.
In this creative process, flowers used to symbolize ephemeral existence contradictorily were immortalized by a technique of dehydration under infrared light, soon after drying the open petals with forceps were carefully brushed one by one with dental resin. Finishing took place as a light curing agent, a blue light that retains the resin to the point of petrifying it. Others are handmade, bearing the artist's trademark, made of modeling gel paste, bathed by a covering of three different shades of glitter from deep blue to black, finished with resin and delicate application of Swarovisks crystals. And the metal flowers that also receive the Swarovisks crystals complement the sophisticated and intriguing "design" of the art work with flowers made with fish scales by Brazilian artisans.
The concept that surrounds the master piece values every moment and breath of life. The Skull with 160cm tall by 120cm wide, represents the whole mystery of the transience of a being.
